Messi Set To Become Barcelona's Best Paid Star

Barcelona are keen to ensure that their best player remains their best paid player too।


Lionel Messi is set to be handed a golden contract that will see him become the highest paid player at Barcelona, with a buy-out clause of €300million, according to a report.
The Argentinian ace will sit down and discuss the new deal when the squad return from the United States, as the Catalan giants want him to remain as their top earner.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic's arrival saw Messi overtaken, with the Swede on €9million-a-year basic salary, but Barcelona have agreed to offer their homegrown star new terms.
Messi will be offered €9.5million-per-season and see his buy-out clause doubled to €300million, €50million more than Ibrahimovic's.
Barca will also offer the player €500,000 in bonuses, with more incentives added on, to ensure that he not attracted by the riches that may be on offer at other major European clubs.
Jorge Messi, Leo's father and agent, has already held informal discussions about the deal, and those will be made concrete later this month.
The player himself has always stated that he is committed to the club that signed him as a youngster and provided the medical treatment he required to grow.
